What is the Driver CPC?
The Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) is a new Qualification for all commercial minibus, bus and coach drivers which must be acquired in order to drive professionally.
The objective of the Driver CPC is to develop knowledge and skills for new drivers and to maintain high standards for experienced drivers throughout the driver’s working life, thus contributing to a high standard of road safety.
The Driver CPC qualification comes into force across all European Union member states from the 10th September 2008 for all commercial minibus, bus and coach drivers.

The existing ‘Transport Manager’s CPC’ also known as the ‘Operator’s CPC’ is a separate qualification and anyone holding one, who still intends to drive commercially as part of their employment, will still need to hold a separate Driver CPC.
