Helping you to comply with your obligations start here

To comply with your Health & Safety and duty of care obligations, Minibus Knowledge of Passenger Safety training will fulfil these requirements to a high standard, the same expected for a professional bus or coach driver.

This high standard of content contained within the training is equivalent to the official DSA PCV theory test, which is the minimum bench-mark standard. Therefore training would also be suitable as; a refresher for existing PCV licence holders, guidance for pre 1997 car-licence holders and any post 1997 car-licence holders studying for their PCV theory test.

Our specialist training will provide an informative and relaxed learning atmosphere with DVD presentations, activities and practical demonstrations to help drivers understand minibus laws, responsibilities and procedures.

The theory...
Part 1: 1 day 'in class' knowledge based training includes:

  • Daily walk-round roadworthiness checks Update
  • Passenger Safety
  • Health & safety and Manual Handling awareness

The practical...
Part 2 : A 1.5 hour driving skills assessment

Minibus Driving skills assessments are the only way to accurately and professionally ascertain the level of driving skill of all your drivers.

Our specialist team of qualified driving instructors will help identify and rectify any minor, serious or dangerous driving faults through instruction and training. Helping your minibus drivers to be one of the safest on the road.

Please note; The DSA (Driving Standards Agency) have comfirmed that is it an illegal practice for car-licenced drivers holding just a D1 (101) licence category, obtained before 1997 to act as minibus driving instructors.

It is not the policy of SC Driver Services to use any unqualified instructors. Hovever, many main stream voluntary minibus driver awareness schemes still use unqualified minibus instructors who are no more qualified than the very drivers they are assessing!
